Company history

History of Beck GmbH

JUNE 2004

Beck GmbH was founded by the managing directors Peter Beck and his son Armin Beck. The idea of founding the company began many years earlier in Peter Beck's sole proprietorship in the field of machine and device construction, as well as assembly and disassembly of production plants.

AUGUST 2004

The production facility was then relocated from Stulln to Wackersdorf, Barbarastraße 6, in order to be able to serve customers in the Wackersdorf Innovation Park even faster on site. Furthermore, Beck GmbH became a training center for industrial mechanics and cutting mechanics.

2005

In the meantime, other well-known automotive supplier companies were also among the customers. Since the restart in Wackersdorf, interesting business partnerships have also developed in the food, special machine construction and transport and conveyor technology sectors.

2007

Due to the volume of business, the building was expanded in the 2007 financial year. The production area thus gained could be equipped with two additional milling machines. This year, the first ISO 9001 certification was successfully carried out by Dekra.

2008/2009/2010

The international financial crisis in 2008 and 2009 also caused problems for Beck GmbH. Sales and thus sales and earnings fell significantly and delayed further growth. During the financial crisis, Beck GmbH became internationally active, supplying production systems to the Czech Republic, Norway and China. The 2010 financial year then tied in with the previous financial years before the financial crisis. Well-known customers in the automotive industry in Belgium, China, Germany, Norway, Russia and the Czech Republic are supplied with production systems and prototypes for series production. Furthermore, six young people started their training at Beck GmbH. Due to the developments within the automotive industry, a new business area in metal construction related to the construction sector was established in the 2010 financial year. This business area includes, among other things, the construction of canopies, conservatories, carports, industrial stairs and industrial platforms.

2011

In the 2011 financial year, the next building expansion could already be carried out. The expansion included an assembly hall with an adjoining office track.

2012

From the 2012 financial year, new business areas such as inductive soldering were established. Due to the increased demand in special machine construction, the construction department was gradually expanded.

2016/2017

Due to increased demand, the machine park was expanded to include wire EDM and milling machines. In addition, investments were made in a three-axis large-bed milling machine.

2019

A new ERP system was introduced in the 2019 financial year to optimize order management. This system made it possible to link to the existing CAD system.

2020

The Covid19 pandemic has the world, economy and people firmly in its grip. Corporate responsibility is becoming more important than ever. Targeted and extensive protective measures for the health of employees have been implemented. Mobile working was selectively made possible.

2021

In 2021, too, the business activities of Beck GmbH were shaped by the COVID19 pandemic. Customer contacts and thus sales, especially in the mechanical and plant engineering sector, suffered from the lockdowns triggered by the pandemic. Short-time work was carried out to relieve the economy. Furthermore, comprehensive corona protection and action measures were maintained in order to protect the health and safety of our employees as best as possible.

2022

The year 2022 started with a generation change. Mr. Peter Beck withdrew from the management of Beck GmbH and Mr. Armin Beck took over the sole management. Furthermore, the website of Beck GmbH was redesigned, designed and implemented. The green footprint also gained in importance and was integrated as a fixed corporate goal.

2023

During 2023, extensive renovation work was carried out on the office space, storage and production areas. The aim of these measures was to increase the efficiency of the processes through new divisions, improved structures and optimized processes. Part of the logistics hall was renovated as part of the renovation. In addition, the most modern fire protection measures such as RWA systems were implemented in several halls to guarantee the highest level of safety for our factory. With an eye on ecological responsibility, the photovoltaic system was expanded to meet the necessary energy requirements. This also marked the start of the gradual conversion of the vehicle fleet to e-mobility with appropriate charging stations. As part of our sustainability efforts, we have modified our machinery and sold some older machines, among other small but significant achievements.
